Influencer Marketing: How do I connect our Instagram account as a Brand or Agency?

This article provides step-by-step instructions for Brands or Agencies to connect their Instagram Business profile to the Influencer Marketing platform. Connecting a profile allows Influencer Marketing to track your Instagram Story and Tag Mentions and request Partnership Ad permissions from the creators you work with.

To successfully connect an Instagram profile, you must have the following:

  • The Instagram profile must be converted to an Instagram Business profile.
  • The Instagram profile must be linked to a Facebook Page.
  • You must be an Admin of the linked Facebook Page.
  • You must have an active Influencer Marketing account.

Initiating the Connection from Influencer Marketing

To connect your Instagram Business Account as a Brand or Agency:

  1. Navigate to your User icon within your Influencer Marketing account.
  2. Select ‘Social Accounts’.
  3. Click on Instagram from the list of available networks.
  4. Select ‘Manage Instagram Accounts’ and follow onscreen instructions.

Enable the Instagram Creator Marketplace

To access Instagram Creator Marketplace data, you need to connect your Instagram account:

  • Navigate to your User icon within your Influencer Marketing account.
  • Select ‘Social Accounts’.
  • Click on Instagram from the list of available networks.
  • You will be prompted to either add an account or onboard your existing account with Creator Marketplace. 
  • Once connected, Creator Marketplace data will automatically appear on eligible creator profiles

Authorizing the Connection through Facebook

After initiating the connection, you must authorize access via Facebook. This grants the Influencer Marketing platform the necessary permissions to retrieve data.

  1. Log in to the Facebook profile with Admin access to the Facebook Page linked to the target Instagram profile.
  2. The platform will show a list of permissions. We suggest choosing ‘Yes’ for all of them.
  3. Select the Facebook Page(s) linked to the desired Instagram profiles.
  4. Proceed to select the Instagram accounts you wish to add.
  5. Click Done to confirm and complete the process.
  6. You will be redirected back to the Influencer Marketing platform.

Invite collaborators to connect Instagram accounts

If you don't have admin access to a company's Instagram accounts, you can invite people from outside your org (collaborators) to connect them.

Invite Collaborators

  1. Scroll to the bottom of the Instagram integration page and click Manage Collaborators.
  2. Enter the email of the social media admin and click Invite Collaborator.
  3. The admin receives an email; they must click Continue in the email.
  4. The admin types their name and clicks Add Instagram Account.
  5. They must log in with Facebook credentials and follow instructions.
  6. Once successful, you will see them on the collaborators list.

Things to Know

  • Personal Instagram accounts cannot be connected.
  • You must maintain the Facebook Page connection; unlinking it breaks the integration.
  • If the connection fails, try an incognito window or clear your cache.

FAQs

Why do I need to connect through Facebook?
The Instagram API requires all Business and Creator profile connections to be authenticated through the Facebook account that manages the linked Page.

I don't see my Instagram profile listed. What should I do?
Ensure your profile is set as a Business profile and that your Facebook login has Admin permissions for the linked Page.

What happens if I change my Facebook password?
It shouldn't break the connection immediately,
