Influencer Marketing: How is data collected?

Table of Contents

To collect and analyze data, Sprout Social Influencer Marketing integrates with supported platforms via an Application Programming Interface (API). An API is a software intermediary that allows two applications to communicate and Influencer Marketing pulls data via a public API from different social platforms. “Public data” refers to the data obtained via these public APIs.

For example: When a creator opts in or signs into Influencer Marketing and grants permissions for their Instagram account, additional metrics like reach and story data from their Instagram Business Account become available. First-party data is only available for content featured in campaigns run on the Influencer Marketing platform. Including this data in campaign reports helps users measure campaign performance, estimate promotion-driven product purchases and evaluate campaign ROI.

Influencer Marketing only collects and displays data that is publicly visible on a creator’s online social profile or page and fully complies with all applicable Terms of Service and Privacy Policies for each social platform.
