Table of Contents
The connections component tracks if a creator has authenticated their YouTube, Instagram or TikTok account. You can enable or disable this feature in Organization Settings or Campaign Settings.
Connections give you a clear view of a creator's opt-in status and access to metrics like:
- Instagram Insights: Content performance and metrics
- YouTube Insights: Video data
- TikTok Creator Marketplace Status: Campaign compatibility
Viewing connections within a campaign
When you’re in your campaign, navigate to the Creators tab and click the creator you want to view. Click View next to Connections on the right-hand side to see detailed information about available data and content types.
Connections makes it easy to send opt-in requests to creators and to see which accounts are connected or expired.
Managing your connections
Requesting connections
- To send a request to a creator, click the box next to their name.
- To send multiple requests, click the box next to more than creator’s name or the box next to Creator in the heading to select all.
- Click Outreach > Send Outreach in the menu at the bottom.
3. Click Templates and select a message template from the drop-down menu.
You can customize templates in the message template section of settings.
4. Click Send.
Sending a TikTok invitation
To invite creators to the TikTok Creator Marketplace:
- Check the box next to a creator or boxes next to multiple creators to send a request in bulk.
- Click Outreach > Send Outreach.
- Click Templates > TTCM Invite Link to invite a creator to TikTok Creator Marketplace.

Inviting creators to opt in
The option to invite a creator to the Sprout Social Creator Hub will only appear for creators who have yet to opt in or authenticate their accounts. To invite creators to opt in:
- Check the box next to a creator or boxes next to multiple creators to send a request in bulk
- Click Templates > Invite to Sprout Social Creator Hub.
- Edit the message if necessary and click Send.
Where else do connections appear in Influencer Marketing?
You can easily track connections across Influencer Marketing in sections like:
- Campaign Dashboard: Quickly see connection statuses at the campaign level.
- Creators List View: Use the Instagram Insights and YouTube Insights columns to check authentication statuses.
- Filters: Add a missing connections filter by clicking the gear icon and toggling ON the filter.
To add a connections filter, click + Add Filters, select the connection type and choose Select All, Connected, Invalidated, or Not Connected.
Missing or Expired Connections
If a Creator’s connection is missing, you’ll see a warning to ensure that metrics and content are accurately included in campaigns.

Connection Status Colors:
- Green: The account is connected and Influencer Marketing is pulling in insights.

Red:
- Invalidated Connection: The connection was revoked (e.g., Instagram token expiration).
- Expired Connection: The connection naturally expired.
- Grey: The creator’s account was never connected.
