Influencer Marketing: Setting Up and Organizing Your Campaign
Table of Contents
This guide provides a clear, step-by-step process for creating and configuring a new Influencer Marketing campaign within the platform, ensuring optimal organization and a successful launch.
Sprout Social Influencer Marketing helps you stay organized when managing new or multiple live campaigns. Use our folder system to keep campaigns tidy.
You can think of the system like this: Folders > Campaigns. Folders are similar to folders on your desktop, where campaigns are the documents within the folder. You can also create a campaign on its own without a folder if needed.
How do I set up a Campaign?
You can create and organize multiple campaigns within a single folder or create a campaign on its own.
The name of your folder will depend on how you want to organize your campaigns. You can name folders based on the brands you’re supporting and build a campaign for each brand. You can also create folders based on time periods and develop campaigns on a quarterly, monthly or annual basis.
To create a new campaign without a folder:
- Click the Campaigns icon
in the navigation bar.
- Click + New in the upper-right corner and click either New Campaign or New Folder.
Once you have selected the 'New Campaign', the details window will pop up:
- Enter a Campaign Name in the Add Campaign popup.
- Select a Start Date and End Date.
- Select the appropriate currency from the dropdown.
Note: this cannot be changed after creation - Confirm the right Brand Profile is selected.
- Click Add.
To create a campaign within a folder, click on the Folder you'd like the campaign to be part of and select the 'New Campaign' option.
To Create a New Folder:
- Navigate to the Campaigns section.
- Click + New and select New Folder.
- Enter a name for the folder.
How do I configure my campaign monitoring settings?
Once your campaign is created, you must define the logistical and creative requirements within the settings area.
- Navigate to the campaign you wish to configure.
- Click Settings in the upper-right corner.
- Click Monitoring in the General tab to enter your campaign's parameters. Add keywords, phrases, hashtags and mentions you want creators to include in their content so it’s automatically pulled into Influencer Marketing.
-
Use the left-hand menu to manage key components. Some of them are:
- Content Planning: Outline required creator posts to facilitate bulk content requests.
- Proposal: Create a formal document sent to creators detailing campaign goals and requirements. The proposal can include elements like a Campaign Overview, Costs & Fees, Planned Content, Content Requirements, Exclusivity, Usage Rights, and Payment Terms.
- Link Tracking: Allows you to customize trackable short links to measure click performance in the campaign
- Messages: Allows you to manage message communications with Creators within the campaign.
Organizing and Moving Campaigns (Folder Management)
You can easily organize campaigns by moving them into existing folders for better management.
Note: It is not necessary to create a new folder to move an existing campaign into an existing folder.
To move a campaign:
- Navigate to the main Campaigns list.
- You can use the designated move option (located in the action icon at the top right corner of each campaign) to place an existing campaign directly into any other existing folder. This allows you to streamline your project management without unnecessary steps.
Favoriting a campaign
Starring a campaign or folder will add it to your starred pages for quick and easy access.
To add a campaign or folder to the starred dashboard:
- Click Campaigns icon
in the left navigation bar.
- Click the three-dots on the folder or campaign card and click Add to Starred.
You can view your favorited folders and campaigns by clicking Starred in the left navigation bar. If you don’t have any starred Campaigns or Folders, you won’t see the star icon in your left navigation bar.
FAQs
How do I initiate a new influencer campaign?
To start, navigate to the Campaigns section, click + New, and select New Campaign. You'll need to define the Campaign Name, Start and End Date, the associated Brand Profile, and select the Currency.
What is the main difference between a Campaign and a Folder?
A Campaign is your primary working environment for a specific influencer collaboration, where you manage content, proposals, and creators. A Folder is a simple organizational container used to group multiple campaigns for streamlined project management.
Can I change the currency after I've created the campaign?
No. Once you set the Currency during the initial campaign setup process, it cannot be changed later. Ensure you select the correct currency before saving the campaign.
If you’d still like to change the currency of the campaign, contact our Customer Support Team via in-app chat or influencersupport@sproutsocial.com
How do I move an existing campaign into a different folder?
You do not need to create a new folder to move a campaign. From the main Campaigns list, you can move an existing campaign directly into any existing folder using the action icon located at the top right corner of each campaign.
