Influencer Marketing: Report settings
Table of Contents
The settings tab in your reports give you the ability to refine, expand and customize your report results. To open the settings window, open the report you want to edit and click Settings in the upper right-hand corner.
Parameters
Each report pulls in data from Sprout Social Influencer Marketing Creators that meet a set of parameters set out at the beginning of the report. To change these parameters, select an existing report, then click Settings.
The platform brings you to the following screen:
Boolean Logic
Every report is based on a series of parameters established at the creation of the report. By updating these parameters, you can expand or refine your results.
Keywords
Add, refine or exclude any keywords, hashtags or phrases you want to include in your report to create a layered query.
Click + to add OR logic across several keywords, hashtags and phrases. You can also add a row to create AND logic by clicking + Add Row for “And” Logic.
To exclude specific keywords, hashtags or phrases, create a new row by clicking + Add Row for “And” Logic and select AND NOT from the dropdown menu.
Boolean logic uses qualifiers like AND or OR to construct queries.
- If you add 'Zhu' to Profile and 'Nike' to Mention, you’ll query all mentions of Nike within Zhu's published content.
Additionally, adding multiple inputs into the same box (i.e., Profile or Mentions) will use 'OR' logic.
- Adding 'Zhu' and 'Nike' into the Mentions box will query all posts (within the specified time frame) that mention any of Zhu's social handles OR any of Nike's social handles.
Date Range
The report start and end dates can be adjusted in the settings at any time. If the date range isn't set during the original query, the start date will be 90 days before the report is created and the end date is the day you last opened the report.
To create an evergreen dashboard using Reports, you can select a start date and leave the end date blank. This will apply ‘Since [start date]’ logic and include the most current posts relevant to your query parameters every time you open the report.
Profiles
Add or remove a creator’s Influencer Marketing Profile to pull data from that profile that meets your updated parameters.
You can also use Creator Lists to add or remove a group of creators from a list you previously created.
Mentions
Add a profile or label to query any content that mentions that profile or label.
Location
Add a location to the report parameters to only view content and data from creators who live in a specific city, state or country.
Timezone
Adjust the timezone setting for your report.
Add More Parameters
For additional Post Metrics, Profile Metrics and absolute or percentage changes, click + Add More Parameters.
All the parameters listed above are available as filters within each section of the report.
Metrics
Customize engagement rate, estimated views, earned media values and estimated fees within the metrics tab of your report.
Any changes made here will only affect the current report. To make organization-wide changes, head to the Organization Settings.
Engagement Rate
The engagement rate is calculated by dividing the number of engagements by the creator’s number of followers.
You can change how the engagement rate is calculated by selecting the platform you want to edit and choosing from the dropdown menu for each post type.
By default, Estimated Views will be used in instances where actual Views are not provided via API or a creator is not authenticated. Views are estimated as a percentage of a profile’s follower size for each platform.
For each platform, you can further customize tiers for each content type. You can also click + Add Content Type to add another type of content to your report or remove a content type by clicking the trash can icon.
Earned Media Value
Earned media value can be used as a value within the components of a report and as a filter to manipulate information within that report. These benchmarks are provided by a third-party source and can also be edited based on your own benchmarks.
Estimated Fees
Fees are based on historical price averages from previous activations and can be edited to your own benchmarks. You can customize the currency and tiers by clicking Settings, the gear icon under each platform tab or the pencil icon next to each tier.
Sections
To edit the sections of a report, navigate to an existing report and click Settings.
Click Sections at the top of the page.
To rearrange a section, drag and drop the section to the desired place.
To edit or make a copy of the section, click the three-dots and click Edit or Make a Copy.
To delete a section, click the trash icon.
To add a new section, click + Add Section. Include a name for the section as well as an optional description and click Add.
Once you’re done editing your settings, click Save to save your changes.
