Table of Contents
This article serves as a guide to detail how to efficiently use the platform's Search feature and benchmark-based filters to discover, evaluate, and save high-fit creators for any campaign, regardless of niche or scope.
Leveraging Natural Language Search
Creator Search is powered by semantic search, meaning the system understands the context and meaning behind your queries, moving beyond simple keyword matching. This allows you to find creators based on the themes and topics they discuss, even if they don't use your exact phrasing.
How to Search Effectively
To search effectively, avoid generic keywords. Instead, describe your ideal creator or content using everyday language.
For instance, instead of searching for the generic term "Beauty," a more effective natural language search would be "K-beauty skincare routine for oily skin." Similarly, rather than "Skiing," try "Mountain skiing, alpine resorts, and winter sports."
A search for "natural skincare" may also surface creators discussing "organic cosmetics" or "holistic beauty," providing a broader, more relevant network. The more relevant a creator's content is to your detailed search criteria, the higher they will appear in your results.
Creator Search Best Practices
To maximize your search results, combine natural language input with strategic refinement techniques:
- Be Specific: Focus your prompt. Example: Instead of "fitness," search for "vegan fitness tutorials for beginners."
- Explore Variations: Rephrase your query to tap into different content pools. "Sustainable fashion hauls" might return different results than "eco-friendly wardrobe tips."
- Combine Filters and Search: Enhance your search by layering criteria. Example: Search "minimalist home decor" + filter by Platform (Instagram) + filter by Location (Germany).
- Start Broad, Then Refine: Begin with a general idea (e.g., “pet adoption stories”), then refine using filters and AI-powered suggestions.
- Use Similar Creators: When you find an excellent match, check their profile for AI-powered suggestions of creators with similar content themes and audience demographics.
Refining Creator Results with Filters
In addition to natural language search, you can refine your results using benchmark-based filters that are optimized to highlight high-performing creators. These filters fall into two main categories: Standard Filters and Benchmark-Based Filters.
Standard Filters
Standard Filters allow you to specify concrete criteria. You can select one or more Platforms (e.g., TikTok, YouTube) to target. The Followers filter lets you narrow results by creator size, using a scale for Micro, Mid, and Macro influencers.
You can also specify Creator Location to find creators based in a specific country, region, or city, or use Audience Location to find creators whose followers are primarily located in a specific geographical area.
Filter by Exact Keyword Match: Search for creators based on whether they used or didn't use a specific keyword or phrase in their content. You can even limit this search to just the creator's bio.
Filter by Exact Engagement Rate: Apply a strict minimum performance threshold to your results.
Filter by Exact Growth Rate: Discover the fastest-growing creators by setting specific percentage thresholds.
Note: These filters can be applied to the results after your initial search, not prior.
Benchmark-Based Filters
These filters are one-click options designed to help you quickly identify top performers and manage your network.
- Use Engagement Leaders to show creators with the highest proven engagement rates.
- Use Fastest Growing to highlight those with the highest recent follower growth.
- For compliance, the Brand-Safe Creators filter will surface creators who comply with your custom Brand Safety rules.
- You can also specifically look for Registered Creators (those in the Creator Hub).
- Finally, use the Exclusions options (Exclude from Campaigns or Exclude from Lists) to manage duplicates, or Show Brands to display only Brand Profiles in the results.
Utilizing AI-Powered Suggestions
Search Suggestions
These suggestions automatically appear as you type and are based on real content themes. They help you discover common or trending creator topics, avoid guesswork when exploring new niches, and instantly run a refined search by clicking the suggested term.
Similar Creators
Found on Creator Profiles and Lists, this feature provides AI-powered suggestions for creators with similar content or audience attributes. This is ideal for quickly broadening your network and finding "hidden gems," particularly for creators covering broad topics like lifestyle or pop culture.
How can I add a creator if I cannot find the profile I am looking for?
If you’re looking for a specific creator using the Creator Search, but it does not come up as a result, Influencer Marketing lets you add the creator handle to our database.
In order to add a new creator to our platform:
- Search for the Creator using different variations such as their name or profile handle.
- If no result comes up, a message to ‘Add Creator’ will show as an option:
- Once you select this option, you will be asked to enter the profiles details and add them to our platform. This action can be performed for both Brands and Creator profiles.
