Influencer Marketing: How to Manage Notification Preferences

Table of Contents

Stay up to date on your campaigns, creator submissions, and collaborator feedback by configuring your notification preferences in Sprout Social Influencer Marketing.

This guide covers how notifications work, how to customize your in-app and email alert preferences, and what triggers are enabled by default for internal team members, external collaborators, and creators.

Notification Delivery Channels

Influencer Marketing delivers updates through two distinct channels:

  • In-App (Bell) Notifications: Live alert badges displayed directly in the platform header (top-right navigation bell icon). Clicking the bell opens a slide-out drawer where you can view recent actions and jump directly to the relevant campaign, creator, or asset.

  • Email Notifications: Transactional emails sent directly to the email address tied to your user profile. These contain direct links to review content, respond to messages, or approve steps.

How to Customize Your Notification Preferences

To view or adjust which events trigger notifications:

  1. Log in to Sprout Social Influencer Marketing.

  2. Click your Profile Avatar in the top-right navigation bar and select Account Settings (or Personal Details).

  3. Navigate to the Notifications (or Notification Management) tab.

  4. Review the notification categories:

    • Content Approval: Draft submissions, concept updates, review comments, and approval status changes.

    • Creator Hiring & Outreach: Proposal submissions, contract signatures, payment requests, and workflow status shifts.

    • Messages: Direct messages sent via Creator Hub or Campaign Messages.

  5. Check or uncheck the boxes under the In-App (Bell) and Email columns according to your personal preference.

  6. Click Save Changes.

Note: If you ever want to revert back to the standard platform setup, click the Restore Default button at the top or bottom of the notification settings page.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) & Troubleshooting

Why did a creator not receive an email invitation or notification?

  • Email Verification: Ensure the creator's email address is correctly formatted in their creator profile without trailing spaces.

  • Spam / Filter Folders: Automated notifications are delivered from no-reply@tagger.media / no-reply@sproutsocial.com. Ask the creator to check their Spam, Junk, or Promotions folders and allowlist the sender domain.

  • Notification Preferences: In Creator Hub, creators can also customize their individual email alerts. Verify that they haven't disabled message notifications.

Can I turn off all email notifications and only rely on in-app alerts?

Yes. You can uncheck all boxes in the Email column under your personal notification settings while keeping the In-App (Bell) column active. You will continue to see badge counts and drawer alerts whenever you are logged in.

Will turning off my notifications affect other team members in my organization?

No. Notification preference checkboxes under your personal profile settings apply only to your account. Organization-wide default templates remain unchanged for other users.
