Influencer Marketing: Managing In-App and Email Notification Preferences

Table of Contents

Staying informed on critical campaign milestones—such as creator contract signings, draft deliverable submissions, client feedback, and payment processing—is essential for running efficient influencer activations.

In Sprout Social Influencer Marketing, you can customize your personal notification preferences across In-App alerts and Email notifications for every stage of the campaign lifecycle. This guide explains how to access notification settings, configure granular alerts across key platform modules, and manage role-specific notification workflows.

1. Accessing Your Notification Settings

Notification preferences are configured at the individual user level:

  1. Log in to your Sprout Social Influencer Marketing workspace.

  2. Click your User Initials / Avatar in the bottom-left corner of the navigation sidebar.

  3. Select User Settings.

  4. In the left-hand menu, select Notifications.

2. Notification Delivery Channels

You can toggle notifications independently across two delivery methods:

  • In-App (Bell Icon): Real-time badge counters and alert feeds inside the platform. Clicking an in-app alert takes you directly to the relevant creator drawer, draft review card, or payment record.

  • Email: Instant notifications delivered to your account email address, containing action links and direct context.

3. Notification Modules & Triggers

A. Content Approval

Keep reviews moving quickly by staying updated on asset drafts and stakeholder feedback:

  • Concept Submissions: Alerts when a creator submits a concept pitch, storyboard, or script for review.

  • Draft Content Uploads: Alerts when final media assets (videos, carousels, images) and proposed captions are uploaded.

  • Feedback & Comments: Notifies you when team members, clients, or creators post in-line revision notes or reply to feedback threads.

  • Collaborator Sign-Off: Alerts when external clients mark a deliverable as Approved or Changes Requested in the Collaborator Portal.

B. Creator Flow & Outreach

Track creator relationship milestones and contract progression:

  • Proposal Responses: Immediate notifications when a creator accepts, declines, or submits a counter-offer to a campaign proposal.

  • Contract Completions: Alerts when an agreement or contract is e-signed by the creator.

  • Direct Messages: Notifications when a creator sends a direct message via the Creator Hub inbox.

C. Recruit (Inbound Applications)

Manage inbound casting and influencer intake forms:

  • New Inbound Applications: Receive an immediate alert whenever a creator applies through your public or embedded Recruit Application Pages.

D. Payments Suite

Ensure finance teams and campaign managers maintain full visibility into payout workflows:

  • Payment Approvals Required: Alerts financial approvers when a draft payment batch is submitted for review and funding.

  • Payment Processed & Remitted: Confirms when payout funds (via Lumanu or PayPal) have been successfully transferred to the creator.

  • Transaction Errors: Immediate high-priority alerts if a payment fails due to invalid banking details or tax documentation holds.

4. Notifications by User Persona & Role

5. Ensuring Email Deliverability

To prevent automated email alerts from landing in spam or promotional filters:

  1. Whitelist Sender Domains: Ask your IT department to whitelist emails sent from @sproutsocial.com and @tagger.media.

  2. Dedicated Inbox Rules: Create an email filter or folder for Influencer Marketing Notifications to keep campaign action items organized.

  3. Verify Account Email: Ensure your login email address is verified under User Settings → Security.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Why am I not receiving notifications for a specific campaign?

Check whether you are added as a team member or campaign manager on that specific campaign. Some high-volume alerts (such as comment threads and proposal responses) are routed specifically to campaign managers assigned to that workspace.

Can I set up a daily digest instead of instant emails?

Currently, email notifications are delivered in real time to ensure urgent feedback and draft approvals are addressed before scheduled posting dates. You can disable email delivery for specific lower-priority categories and rely on the in-app bell feed instead.

Where do external clients manage their notifications?

External clients reviewing assets through the Collaborator Portal do not access internal User Settings. They can toggle email digest reminders directly within their portal access banner.
