Influencer Marketing: How should I use the Analytics section of a Creator Profile?

Table of Contents

This article guides you through using the Analytics section in the Creator Profile within Influencer Marketing. Its purpose is to teach you how to view key data, including performance KPIs, content history, and audience demographics, so you can confidently vet creators and measure campaign success based on concrete evidence.

The Analytics section within a Creator Profile provides a comprehensive, at-a-glance view of a creator's historical performance, audience insights, and content metrics. Its purpose is to allow marketers to quickly vet potential partners and monitor the effectiveness of activated creators by evaluating key performance indicators (KPIs) like Engagement Rate (ER) and audience quality.

Accessing the Analytics Section

  1. Navigate to the Creators tab in the main navigation menu.
  2. Search for and click on the specific Creator Profile you wish to analyze.
  3. Once on the Creator Profile page, click the Analytics tab located near the top of the page.

Navigating Creator Profile Analytics

The Analytics section is divided into two main areas: the Performance and Audience tabs. Use these tabs to gain a holistic understanding of a creator's influence and impact.

How do I view deeper analytics in this section?

You can click into Analytics to see richer insights across social networks. To dive in:

  1. Open a creator’s Profile from Search, Reports, List, or Campaign tabs.
  2. Click Analytics from the Creator’s Profile. The Analytics pop-up appears.
  3. Toggle between the Performance and Audience tabs, along with social networks, and apply any relevant filters.

Understanding the Performance Overview

The Performance tab provides high-level summary statistics and is the default view. This section helps you quickly review the overall performance and engagement rate of the creator. Some of the metrics you can review here include:

  • Date Range Filter: Use the date selector to adjust the time frame of the data displayed (e.g., Last 30 Days, Last 90 Days). This allows for trend analysis over specific periods.
  • Key Performance Indicators (KPIs): Review the main metric tiles, which typically include:
    • Follower Count: The total number of followers for the connected channel.
    • Engagement Rate (ER): The calculated percentage of engagement on content during the selected period.
    • Median of EMV (Earned Media Value): Estimated monetary value of the Post based on its metrics or the audience size of the Creator.
    • Median of Engagements: The sum of all likes, comments, and shares across all posts.
  • Performance Charts: Review the visual charts to identify trends in data fluctuations over the selected period.

Evaluating Audience Demographics

The Audience tab presents anonymized demographic data for the creator's follower base. This is essential for ensuring audience alignment with your brand's target demographic.

  • Audience Location: Review the geographic distribution of followers. The data typically includes the Top Countries and Top Cities.
  • Audience Age and Gender: Analyze the breakdown of followers by Age Group and Gender.
  • Audience Comparison: Use this option to compare audience demographics data against other profiles. You will find this option at the top right corner of the Audience Demographics section.

FAQs

How often does the data in the Analytics section update?

Data is typically updated once every 24 hours. The most recent data available is usually for the day prior, as the platform requires a full day of metrics to be logged and processed by the social network's API before ingestion.

Why are some metrics missing from a connected profile?

Missing metrics usually indicate that the connected social channel (e.g., a creator's Instagram) does not have a Professional or Creator Account type, or the permissions granted during the connection process were insufficient to retrieve all available data. Re-connecting the profile with the proper permissions is usually the required fix.

Can I view Audience Demographics for all connected platforms?

No. Currently, granular Audience demographics (like Age and Gender) are primarily sourced and displayed for Instagram, X, YouTube and Snapchat. Always verify the platform availability for specific audience insights.
