Influencer Marketing: What information is in the Details tab of a Creator’s profile?

Table of Contents

This article provides a comprehensive, written walkthrough of the Details tab within a creator’s profile in Influencer Marketing. This tab is the primary source for a creator's identifying information, organizational data, and system status, enabling users to quickly vet, manage, and refresh key profile information.

What's in the Details Tab?

The Details tab serves as the centralized hub for an influencer's foundational data. It displays public information, such as the profile’s location and connected social handles, alongside internal details, like custom fields and contact information.

Basic Information

The Basic Information section contains essential information about a profile. Any updates made here are immediately visible to all users across your entire organization.

  • Profile Name: The primary identifier for the creator. You can click to update the name at any time.
  • Location: The profile's geographic location, usually determined by autonomous system signals. If the location appears inaccurate or outdated, you can click on the field to manually update it.
  • Gender: Choose the selected profile's gender, if applicable. Note that gender selection is unavailable for profiles marked as a brand.
  • Profile Type and Category: Define the profile's role (e.g., "Creator") and its niche expertise (e.g., "Tech Reviewer," "Travel Blogger").

Social Platforms

This section manages all of the creator’s connected social media handles.

To add or edit a platform, click Add Platform, select the channel (Instagram, YouTube, X, Facebook, TikTok, Snapchat, LinkedIn, Twitch, Pinterest, or Website), and copy-paste the full URL into the Link field before clicking Add.

Third-Party Authorization Status

Authorization status for linked Instagram, YouTube and TikTok accounts is displayed here, using a color-coded system to indicate the level of data access the platform currently has:

  • Instagram Status:
    • Red indicates the profile is not an Instagram Business/Creator Account.
    • Yellow means the profile is a Business/Creator Account but is not fully authorized.
    • Green confirms the profile is a Business/Creator Account and is authorized, granting full access to data.
  • YouTube Status:
    • Yellow means the profile is not authorized.
    • Green indicates the profile is authorized and provides additional access to post metrics within campaigns.
  • TikTok Status:
    • Yellow means the profile is not authorized.
    • Green indicates the profile is authorized and provides additional access to post metrics within campaigns.

Organization Defaults (Internal Data)

These fields allow for the customization of profile information that is only visible to members within your organization. This internal data appears in the left-hand panel of the profile.

  • Photo: Add a custom avatar photo that will be used across the Agency Portal, Collaborator Portal, and Report Builder.
  • Email Address: You can add or edit the creator’s email address. If this information is publicly available via connected APIs, the system automatically populates it. Remember: changes are only visible to others in your organization and will only apply to new campaigns, not existing ones.
  • Mailing Address: Add a physical address for internal tracking and shipping purposes. This information is only available to members of your organization.
  • Bio: Add or edit the creator's biography that appears in the left panel. Edits here are also only visible internally.

Profile Custom Field Information

Custom Fields are a powerful way to track information that isn't captured by the platform's default options. These fields are configured in your organization's settings and are located below the organization default elements.

Seven unique types of custom fields are available: Small Textbox, Large Textbox, Dropdown, Multi-select Dropdown, Date, Attachment, and Number.

Profile Management Actions

Beyond viewing information, the Details tab is where you initiate two crucial profile management tasks:

How do I Refresh a Profile?

Profiles are typically refreshed on a schedule, but you can manually run a refresh to ensure you have the most recent data immediately.

  1. Click the ellipsis (...) within the Basic Information component.
  2. Click Refresh Profile. This action collects the most recent data from the linked platform APIs, including new content and the platform's calculated metrics.

How do I Merge Profiles?

If a creator has accidentally been assigned two separate profiles in your system, you can merge them to consolidate all data into one master profile.

  1. Click the ellipsis (...).
  2. Click Merge Profile.

FAQs

Why isn't my profile photo update showing up for my entire team?

You likely updated the photo under Organization Defaults. Photos added here are custom avatars that are only visible internally within your organization's portals and reports.

I updated a creator's email address, but it didn't change the email on an active campaign. Why?

Email edits in the Details tab are only applied to new campaigns. Existing campaigns retain the email address that was in use when they were first created.

The location shown for a profile is incorrect. What should I do?

Click on the Location field under Basic Information and manually update the information. The system's automated signals can sometimes be inaccurate or outdated.

Can a profile marked as a brand have a gender selected?

No, the gender selection field is unavailable for profiles that are designated as a "Brand" in the Profile Type field.
