Influencer Marketing: Engagement Rate

Table of Contents

The engagement rate is available in several locations throughout Influencer Marketing. By default, engagement rate is calculated as the number of engagements divided by the number of followers. Not everyone calculates engagement rate the same, so we encourage you to edit the engagement rate formula based on the preferred method of your organization, campaign or content type.

Organization Settings

Organization admins can change the engagement rate formula for their entire organization in the Organization Settings. Any changes to the engagement rate will be reflected in new campaigns.

Only an organization admin can edit the engagement rate for the entire organization.

To change the engagement rate in Organization Settings:

  1. Click your user icon in the bottom left and click Settings.
  2. Click Metrics > Engagement Rate
  3. Choose which social network to edit by clicking the tabs.
  4. Use the drop-down to adjust the engagement rate formula for each content type.

  1. Click Save.

To change your engagement rate formula back to the default formula, click Restore Default.

Campaign Settings

You can change how the engagement rate is calculated for a specific campaign by navigating to your Campaign Settings and following the steps below:

  1. Click Metrics > Engagement Rate
  2. Choose which social network to edit by clicking the tabs.
  3. Use the drop-down to adjust the engagement rate formula for each content type.

  1. Click Save.

To change your engagement rate formula back to the default formula, click Restore Default.

If the metrics in your updated calculation are missing or incomplete, then you won’t see the engagement rate in the Campaign Summary.

For example: If you change the engagement rate formula to engagements divided by reach but you’re not tracking reach as one of your campaign metrics, then the engagement rate can’t be calculated.
