Influencer Marketing: How do I create and manage discount codes for Shopify?
Table of Contents
You can import Shopify Discount Codes or create them directly in Influencer Marketing to send to creators. You can generate codes for individual creators within a specific campaign or for an entire campaign.
How do I create discount codes?
To set discount codes:
- Navigate to the campaign you want to create a code for and click Settings.
- Click Creator Flow. Scroll down to ensure Shopify Discount Code is toggled ON.
- Click the gear icon next to Shopify Discount Code.
You can also click Add next to Shopify Discount Code in the right-hand panel.
- Select one of the two types of discount codes to create for the campaign.
- One Discount Code for Campaign. All creators in your campaign will have the same discount code.
- Separate Discount Code for the Creators. All creators in your campaign will have different codes with the same configuration.
- Select which Shopify store to add to your campaign using the dropdown menu.
- Select which method of Discount Code generation you want, Import from Shopify or Create new Discount Code.
- Click Continue.
- Create your discount code by adding details like the code name, start and end date and discount type. Confirm your changes and click Create.
Your discount code must use the same currency as your campaign.
If you select one discount code, all creators will have the same code for the campaign and this code can’t be changed for individual creators. All campaign metrics are then aggregated under one discount code.
If you create separate discount codes, each creator receives a unique code with the same configuration. These codes are automatically generated for any creators belonging to the campaign as well as for any creators you add in the future. You can edit the codes at the creator level and metrics are separated by creators.
How do I set discount codes for individual creators?
If you're an Agency user, you can edit an existing discount code or completely withdraw it and create a new discount code in its place.
To do this:
- Open your campaign and click Settings.
- Click Edit next to Shopify Discount Code in the right-hand menu.
How do I edit existing discount codes?
If you're an Agency user, you can edit an existing Discount Code or completely withdraw it and create a new Discount Code in its place.
To do this:
- Navigate to the Campaign Settings.
- Click Edit next to Shopify Discount Code in the right-hand menu.
Withdrawing a discount code has no impact on the code in Shopify. It will unlink the relationship between the discount code and a creator or campaign.
What metrics are connected to discount codes?
Influencer Marketing gathers three metrics in relation to Shopify discount codes:
- The number of orders made with a discount code
- The total sales generated with a discount code
- The total discount codes commission
You can find these metrics in the Summary > Payments & Conversions tab of your campaign with a summary and creator breakdown view. It’ll be listed as its own element summarizing the performance of the whole campaign.
