Table of Contents
Affiliate marketing is a type of marketing where affiliates earn a commission by promoting a product or service for a brand, retailer, or advertiser. The affiliate is only paid out when they generate a result, such as driving traffic to a website or referring a customer, for their affiliate partner.
Sprout’s partnership with TUNE lets you track online store conversions, including metrics like the number of conversions, revenue generated and link clicks. In Influencer Marketing, you can create affiliate orders with percent commission and hire creators to promote your product or brand with a unique tracking link tied to your campaign. You can also use TUNE to track conversions from activities without an affiliate link by following the steps outlined in this article.
Create an offer
Once TUNE is enabled in Influencer Marketing and postback URL tracking is set up on your store's website, you can set up an offer.
1. Open a campaign and click Settings. Click the Creator Flow tab and toggle Affiliate Link to ON. On the right-hand panel, click Configure next to Affiliate Link.
2. A pop up window appears where you can configure the terms of your creator partnership.
If this is the first time you’re setting up affiliate links in Influencer Marketing, you’ll need to configure your offer in the Campaign Settings to proceed.
When you click Campaign Settings, you can adjust the following settings:
- Offer Name - The name as it appears to the creator.
- Target URL - The website where the generated tracking links lead.
- Commission Percentage - The percentage of the converted sales shared with the creator.
- Conversion Cap - Maximum number of conversions to be shared with the creator.
- Payout Cap - Maximum payout given to the creator from these conversions.
- Expiration Date - A mandatory field specifying when an offer expires.
3. Append ?transaction_id={transaction_id} to your website’s link.
- To attribute a conversion to a creator, the target URL must accept the transaction ID.
4. Click Save.
Generate tracking links
Once an offer is created, tracking links are automatically generated for all creators within a campaign.
Tracking links share the same configuration as the offer at the campaign level. There is no way to adjust this on the creator level. Once generated, these links are ready to use immediately and can be shared directly with creators as a part of a proposal or in a message.
Tracking affiliate performance
In the Campaign Summary tab, you’ll find affiliate marketing metrics like the number of conversions, total revenue generated and the number of link clicks broken out on the creator and campaign level.
