Influencer Marketing: What is the Creator Hub?
Table of Contents
This article serves as a comprehensive guide for successful Brand-Creator collaboration, defining the Hub's purpose and primary features. It also provides essential steps for Brands to onboard creators and connect their accounts, ensuring a seamless partnership within the Sprout Social Influencer Marketing framework.
The Sprout Social Creator Hub is the dedicated, creator-facing portal designed to streamline collaboration between individual creators and the Brands or Agencies that use Sprout Social Influencer Marketing. Its primary purpose is to help creators manage their social media data, view performance analytics, and handle all campaign-related communication in one centralized location.
Creator Hub is essential for any creator participating in a campaign managed through the Sprout Social Influencer Marketing platform. The platform is free for creators to use.
- What is a Creator Hub? A secure, dedicated portal for creators to connect social media accounts, manage their profiles, and collaborate on campaigns with Brands and Agencies.
- What is a Creator Profile? The collection of a creator's connected social media accounts and aggregated analytics data housed within the Creator Hub.
Prerequisites to use a Creator Hub account
To use the Creator Hub, the following conditions apply:
- The creator must navigate directly to the portal at https://creatorhub.sproutsocial.com/ to create their account.
- The creator must connect at least one authenticated social media account during the initial registration process.
- The brand or agency using Sprout Social Influencer Marketing must be actively using the Creator Hub workflow for campaign management.
Accessing and Managing the Creator Hub Account
The Creator is responsible for creating and maintaining their Creator Hub account. Brands and Agencies should not attempt to connect the profiles on the creator's behalf.
Step-by-Step instructions for the Creator
- Navigate to the Hub: The creator navigates to the Creator Hub site.
- Create Account: The creator initiates the sign-up process using an email address.
- Connect Social Account: During setup, the creator must follow the prompts to securely connect a minimum of one social media profile (e.g., Instagram, TikTok, Facebook).
- Grant permissions: Connecting accounts grants the Brand or Agency read-only access to specific engagement and performance analytics. This authorization is important for campaign measurement and reporting within the Sprout Social platform.
Core Functionalities for Creators
Once an account is set up, the Creator Hub becomes the centralized site for all their activities and collaborations.
- Campaign Management: Creators can review, accept, or decline campaign invitations or proposals sent by Brands or Agencies using Sprout Social. This is where they access campaign briefs and key requirements.
- Profile Management: Creators can manage and monitor all of their connected social media accounts, updating their Creator Profiles and relevant information as needed.
- Data Visibility: Creators gain insights into their own performance metrics and how their data is displayed to the Brands and Agencies they work with.
- Settings: The Hub allows creators to update their contact details, change passwords, and manage their social account connections.
Guidance for Brands and Agencies
As a customer using Sprout Social Influencer Marketing, you play a vital role in ensuring a smooth onboarding experience for your creators.
- Creator’s Account Connection: As the credentials for each of the social profiles is needed during the connection process, the Creator must perform this action themselves via the Creator Hub. Additionally, in the case of Instagram, the creator must ensure they have a Facebook Page connected to their Instagram account. This is only possible if they have Full Control or Admin access to the page. More information can be found here.
-
Share Documentation: To guarantee a smooth setup process, we strongly recommend sharing the relevant help center articles directly with your creators. This reduces friction and prevents errors.
- The link to share for account creation is: https://creatorhub.sproutsocial.com/.
- Additionally, Creators can contact our Customer Support team via in-app chat or at influencersupport@sproutsocial.com.
FAQs
Why can't I (as the Brand or Agency) connect the Creator's social account for them?
For reasons of security, privacy, and social network compliance, the Creator must personally log in and authorize the connection via the Creator Hub using their own credentials.
Does the Creator need a paid Influencer Marketing account to use the Creator Hub?
No, the Creator Hub is a dedicated, free-to-use portal for creators collaborating with Sprout Social Influencer Marketing customers. The creator does not need to purchase any subscription.
How does a Creator know if a connection was successful?
Once a connection is successfully authenticated, the Creator will see the ‘Connected’ status reflected in the Settings/Profiles section of their Creator Hub account. The brand or agency will then be able to view the Creator's data within the Sprout Social platform.
Do creators have to access their Creator Hub account to see campaign’s proposals and messages?
No. Creators will also be notified via email whenever a Brand or Agency reaches out in relation to a campaign.
We want to gather Instagram’s Stories Data. Is this possible without creators having to connect their socials to Influencer Marketing?
Yes. As a Brand, you can connect your own socials by making use of our Meta Integration. This will allow us to track the creators’ Instagram Stories and Tag mentions, and allow you to request Partnership Ad permissions from the creators you work with. Read more about it here.
A creator we’re working with is having trouble connecting their profiles to Influencer Marketing. What can I do?
We recommend sharing all relevant articles with the creator. If the issue persists, the creator should contact our Customer Support, providing a detailed explanation of the behaviour they’re experiencing on their end. We’ll be happy to help!
