Influencer Marketing: Troubleshooting Common Login Issues

Table of Contents

This guide provides explicit steps to help you troubleshoot and resolve common issues preventing you from successfully logging into the Sprout Social Influencer Marketing platform.

Use the steps below, starting with the most common and easiest solutions, to resolve your login issue.

This article is applicable to both Brand/Agency users and Creators accessing the platform or the Creator Hub.

Check Login Credentials and Platform URL

Let's start with your login issue by double-checking your username and password, and making sure you're on the right site:

  1. Verify your Username/Email: Ensure the email address or username is entered correctly.
  2. Verify your Password: Check that the correct password is being used. If you suspect an error, use the Forgot Password link on the login page to reset it.
  3. Confirm the Correct Login URL:
Sprout Social and Influencer Marketing have similar login portals. Ensure you’re logging into the correct portal for your user type and ensure it is labeled as Influencer Marketing.

Clear Cache and Cookies

Browser-stored data can sometimes conflict with the login process. In your browser's settings, navigate to the section for clearing browsing data, cache, and cookies.

  • In Chrome, you’ll find this option by clicking the three dots in the top-right corner > Delete Browsing Data.
  • Select ‘Cookies and Other Site Data’ as well as ‘Cached Images and Files’ for the last 24 hours or longer. Note: You do not need to clear your browsing history or saved passwords.
  • In Safari, you’ll find this option by going into Settings > Privacy and selectingManage Website Data’
  • In Edge, locate this option by going to Settings > Privacy, search, and services, and select ‘Choose what to clear’ next to "Clear browsing data now"

Once you've taken the above steps, restart your browser and attempt to log in again.

Troubleshoot Single Sign-On (SSO) Issues

If your organization uses SSO, the login error is likely managed by your company's Identity Provider (IdP). Review the following information:

  1. Check Internal IDP Status: Verify if your company's internal login system (e.g., Okta, Azure AD, Google) is experiencing an outage or maintenance.
  2. Contact Internal IT/Security Team: Your internal IT department or Security team manages your SSO configuration and is the first point of contact for SSO-related login failures. Influencer Marketing Support has limited visibility into third-party IdP failures.
  3. Check for "Authentication Failed" Messages: If you see a generic "Authentication Failed" message, ensure you are not attempting to use a direct Sprout password login when the account is configured for mandatory SSO.

FAQs

Why am I being immediately logged out after a successful login?

This is often a sign of a browser-related issue. Immediately perform a Hard Refresh or Clear your Cache and Cookies. If the issue persists, try logging in using an Incognito or Private browser window.

I know my password is correct, but I still can't log in. What should I do?

If you are certain your login credentials are correct, contact our Customer Support team via in-app chat or at influencersupport@sproutsocial.com.

Why does the login page look strange or load incorrectly?

This is typically a browser rendering problem. Try restarting your browser to force the page to load correctly and ensure your browser is updated to the latest version.

I am not sure what my login details are. What should I do?

Contact your Account Owner or an Admin user within your organization to verify the login credentials of your user profile. If you are the Account Owner, contact Influencer Marketing Support for direct assistance.

I am getting an 'invalid login' message. What should I do?

Invalid messages usually result from typos in your login details or trying to log in on the wrong platform. Please verify your email and password and ensure you're using the Influencer Marketing platform. If the problem continues, contact our Customer Support team via in-app chat or at influencersupport@sproutsocial.com.

Can I log into Influencer Marketing with my Sprout Social credentials?
